With the expansion of the global stainless steel forging market, China, as one of the world’s largest producers and consumers, also has vast market space and tremendous potential in this field. However, the stainless steel forging manufacturing industry in China still faces many challenges.
On the policy support side, the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission has issued relevant policy measures to encourage better development of the stainless steel forging manufacturing industry. For example, it aims to shift excess capacity in the steel industry to emerging markets for high-end stainless steel forged products. At the same time, regulations have been enacted in terms of environmental protection and quality, such as mandatory implementation of new industrial pollution emission standards to protect the environment and improve product quality for the safety and high-level quality of use by the people.
However, there are still many other issues that need to be addressed. First of all, the stainless steel forging manufacturing industry in China is facing pressure from supply-side structural reforms and transformation and upgrading, including overcapacity, technological backwardness, and a lack of innovation.
Secondly, compared with some mature countries such as Europe, the United States, and Japan, China still lags behind in the competition in the high-end market for stainless steel forging products. Although investment from various sources has increased in recent years, and enterprises have continuously upgraded technology, developed intelligent technologies, and innovated models, they still face a number of demanding issues such as production costs, quality, and customer demand in the high-end market. Further improvement remains to be tested by time.
Finally, the issue of order saturation is stifling the development of many manufacturing enterprises, such as increasing efficiency and other feasible aspects of manufacturing research.
Taking a stainless steel forging factory in Hebei Province as an example, although the national new medical reform has been implemented for more than ten years, it lacks management norms and clear directions that conform to good practices in the production and manufacturing field, leading to a balanced imbalance in the sales and service experience of related products. This highlights the necessity and importance of a national regulatory system.
Overall, although the Chinese government has issued some policies to promote the transformation of stainless steel forging brands towards the high-end market, the industry still needs further and more profound reforms and efficient coordinated cooperation to cope with current challenges and follow market trends and future technological development directions.
