Manufacturing technology and application of copper forgings for construction machinery

Construction machinery copper forging refers to the processing of copper materials into parts of the desired shape and size by hammering, impact or extrusion. Copper forgings have excellent mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity, and are widely used in the field of construction machinery.

In general, the manufacturing process consists of the following steps:

  1. Material preparation: Select suitable copper material, generally brass material with high zinc content. The material should be uniformly heated and oxidized to ensure the quality and plasticity of the material.
  2. Preheating: the copper material is preheated, usually at a temperature of about 700℃. Preheating can make the internal structure of the metal become uniform and reduce deformation and cracks during cooling.
  3. Forging: The preheated copper material is put into the forging equipment, and the shape is changed by external force through hammering, impact or extrusion. The forging process needs to control the temperature, speed and strength to ensure the accuracy and performance of the forging.
  4. Heat treatment: After forging copper forgings need to be heat treated, including annealing, normalizing and quenching processes. Heat treatment can change the structure of the forging and improve its mechanical properties and strength.
  5. Processing and surface treatment: Copper forgings after heat treatment need to be further finished and surface treatment, such as milling, turning, grinding, coating, etc., to meet the requirements of construction machinery.

The application of copper forgings in construction machinery is mainly concentrated in some parts with high requirements for strength, wear resistance and thermal conductivity, such as engine pistons, connecting rods, gears, bushings, bearings and so on. Copper forgings play an important role in the field of construction machinery, which can improve the reliability and service life of equipment.
